Google provide 2 step verification to protect your Gmail account. click Other Google Account settings. Click the setup starts button present on the right side of the page. Note: You should try to connect your account without changing these settings and change only if the previous steps don’t work. The 2 step phone verification number I had setup on my email account is a previous phone I used while working and I no longer have access to that phone.
